HeadSpace is designed to empower Heads of School with the strategic context and professional development necessary to lead with confidence, competence and clarity.

Facilitation Skills for Leaders and Managers Workshop

In addition, we provide a practical workshop helping leaders and managers to develop their facilitation skills. In your role, you'll often need facilitation skills in various settings, such as team meetings, project discussions, or during change initiatives. These skills are crucial for creating a safe environment, fostering collaboration, and ensuring effective communication and decision-making within teams. This training session focuses on practical facilitation techniques, covering the facilitator's role, methods, good practice, and overcoming challenges.

Vice-Chancellor and President's Mentoring Scheme

The VCP Mentoring Scheme supports leadership development for colleagues in Grades 9 and 10 roles who aspire to more senior leadership positions at Leeds or beyond, but feel that factors related to one or more protected characteristics may be limiting their professional growth. The scheme offers a unique opportunity to explore the challenges and rewards of leadership, gain sector insight, reflect on leadership capabilities and build confidence in navigating complex organisations.

Leeds Executive Leadership Apprenticeship

The Leeds Executive Leadership Apprenticeship (LELA) is a work-based apprenticeship programme for senior managers, delivered by the Leeds University Business School (LUBS). Whether you’re looking to develop your leadership skills, understand the latest management concepts, or strengthen your ability to lead change, this programme combines practical learning with expert insights to help you drive organisational success.

Our Leadership Toolkit page is available on the Staff Intranet and has a range of toolkits covering key leadership topics.
