We offer a tailored range of learning and development opportunities for colleagues in Grades 2–5.

From career planning to digital skills and personal development, these sessions and programmes are designed to support you in your role and help you explore your next steps.

Whether you're building confidence, developing new skills or considering future career plans, you can take part in individual sessions or engage with longer programmes depending on your goals.

Beginner's Guide to LinkedIn Learning

Discover how LinkedIn Learning can support your personal and professional development in this introductory session.

Career development programmes

Explore two career development programmes offering practical support to help you review your skills, consider career options and plan your next steps.

Digital essentials

Build or refresh essential digital skills with bitesize courses. It includes training in Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Teams and PowerPoint.

Fresh Steps Programme

This programme is designed for any colleague who is mid-career and want to reassess where they are in their lives and work, review their priorities, explore new possibilities and set new life and career goals.

Monthly drop-in sessions

These drop-in sessions take place every fourth Tuesday of the month (10am-12noon) at the Wellbeing Hub, except on University closed days. They give you the chance to meet colleagues from OD&PL and explore learning and development opportunities for colleagues in grade 2-5 roles. Find out more on the Staff Intranet.

Springboard Development Programme for Women

This programme is designed specifically for women’s personal and professional development and covers topics including improving self-confidence, being more proactive, effective communication and assertiveness.

  • Coaching and mentoring - Information on coaching at Leeds and the University-wide Mentoring Scheme.
  • Equality and inclusion - Explore a suite of equality and inclusion programmes, projects and events that support and underpin the Equality and Inclusion Framework.
  • LinkedIn Learning - As well as signing up to an introductory session, you can find out more about how LinkedIn Learning can support all colleagues in their personal and professional development and learning.
