UK Disability History Month (UKDHM) is an annual event focusing on the history of disabled people’s fight for equality and human rights - this year it runs from Thursday 18 November - Saturday 18 December. The themes this year are Disability and Hidden Impairment and Disability Sex and Relationships.  To launch the awareness month, UKDHM are hosting an online launch event at 7pm on Thursday 18 November -  join the event and book your place on Eventbrite.

The University is helping to mark the awareness month by highlighting relevant events and activities, lighting up the Parkinson Building for International Day of Persons with Disabilities (3 December) and sharing the support available for disabled staff and students. Find out more on the Equality and Inclusion Unit's UKDHM 2021 event page.

As part of the support highlighted on the above page, is our suite of OD&PL equality and inclusion programmes, projects and events that support and underpin the University Equality and Inclusion Framework. It includes a range of equality and inclusion resources curated to support individuals and teams in developing and implementing equality, diversity and inclusion strategies. In addition, the course 'Supporting workers with Disabilities' is available for colleagues to watch for free on LinkedIn Learning.
