A new series of virtual development sessions have been created by HR and OD&PL to support colleagues to develop their skills related to managing others.

The Management in Practice series of sessions run from April to July 2022 and are designed for supervisors, team leaders and managers, or for colleagues aspiring to these roles.

The sessions will take place online and will provide advice, information about additional resources and a space for discussion about best practices and exploring any issues you are facing at present.

There are separate sessions on each topic by grade, so each topic has three options to book, there is one session for grades 6, a session for grades 7 and a session for grades 8. This approach aims to make each session as relatable as possible for each participant based on their experiences and responsibilities.

The session topics covered in this series are:

  • Career Development
  • Supporting Attendance and Health
  • Supporting Excellence
  • Challenging Staff Relationships
  • Low-Level Conduct / Grievances
  • Recruitment and Redeployment

These sessions are additional support to the existing management essentials programme provided by OD&PL which you may also find helpful to consider.
