About International Women’s Day (IWD)

IWD is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality. IWD has been celebrated for well over a century, with the first gathering, in 1911, supported by over a million people. Today, IWD belongs to all groups collectively everywhere.

IWD 2023 theme: #EmbraceEquity

This year’s theme #EmbraceEquity, highlights the important differences between ‘equity’ and ‘equality’. It focuses on how collective activism can drive societal change and that through equity we can reach equality. You can read more about this year’s theme on the IWD website.

 IWD LinkedIn Learning resources

The resources, compiled by LinkedIn Learning, are a collection of videos exploring the meaning of equity, how to embrace it and how to take action within your sphere of influence. Learn how stereotypes and societal labels are harmful to driving change and moving closer to realising a more inclusive world.
