Connect your personal LinkedIn account to LinkedIn Learning

Category

Date

If you already have a personal LinkedIn account, you can connect it to your LinkedIn Learning account.

When you log in to LinkedIn Learning, you will be asked if you want to connect your LinkedIn Learning account with your personal LinkedIn (networking) profile. This is optional - you can use LinkedIn Learning without connecting your LinkedIn profile. You can also use LinkedIn Learning even if you do not have a LinkedIn account.

Connecting your LinkedIn profile does provide additional benefits such as the ability to publish the courses you have completed on your profile (as a certification / badge) and receiving personalised course recommendations based on your profile information. You can also retain your learning history as/when you leave the University. If you don't connect to your LinkedIn profile when you initially sign up, you can do so later.

If you do connect your personal LinkedIn profile to LinkedIn Learning, after your initial registration, you will access LinkedIn Learning by logging in to your personal LinkedIn account and clicking on “Work” in the top navigation, then Learning. The University will not be able to see anything relating to your LinkedIn Profile if you do decide to connect it to LinkedIn Learning.

Please note, if you do connect to your personal LinkedIn profile, any emails sent via LinkedIn Learning by the University, such as recommending courses, will be diverted to your primary email address on your personal LinkedIn profile. This could be a personal email address. The University will not have details of your personal email address.

If you did not connect your personal LinkedIn profile when you first activated your LinkedIn Learning account, you can do so later by:

  1. log in to your LinkedIn Learning account
  2. navigate to any course
  3. start the course
  4. go to the "Q&A" tab (next to "Overview" ect.)
  5. in the "Q&A" tab you will see the option to connect your license and your profile.
