Colleagues from the University of Leeds have been shortlisted for the prestigious Vitae Impact, Culture, and Engagement (ICE) Awards, in recognition of their significant contribution to the researcher development community.

The team behind the Research Culture Uncovered Podcast, have been shortlisted in the ‘Research Culture Impact Through Researcher Development Award’ category. This nomination celebrates the podcast’s impactful and innovative work within the researcher development community, emphasising the importance of enhancing research culture.

Dr Emma Spary, Head of Researcher Development and Culture in Organisational Development and Professional Learning (OD&PL), said:

“The entire team are thrilled to be shortlisted for this award. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all our guests and listeners; their support has been invaluable to the podcast's success.

"The Research Culture Uncovered podcast team believes that fostering a better research culture is an urgent global need. To play our part in delivering that, we have sought to engage with the research and researcher development communities, sharing successes and challenges in driving positive research culture change. In this open forum, our aim has been to move beyond debate towards practical steps and the sharing of best practices.

"Creating the podcast in 2022 has been a huge learning curve for all the team and we really want to thank our podcast coach, the wonderful Michael Sharkey for getting us from idea to reality.”

Since its launch on 27 October 2022, the podcast team have released over 80 episodes, attracting more than 5,000 listeners from 81 countries. With top audiences in the UK, the US, Australia, and Germany, the podcast has achieved over 8,500 unique downloads and built a LinkedIn community of over 1,105 members.

The winners of the Vitae ICE Awards will be revealed during the Vitae conference gala dinner on Monday 23 September 2024, in Birmingham.
