Tutors and ATLAS managers
ATLAS
ATLAS (Active teaching and Learning Space) is the assessment part of PebblePad.
ATLAS is the second component of PebblePad and it is the assessment space. It offers tools to formatively and summatively assess user submissions, provide feedback and grades and many more functions related to reviewing user’s work.
From the end of January, Managers, Assessors, and Administrators will move to the new ATLAS interface, which will become their default experience. The ATLAS interface has been refreshed and will be available to all staff users at the end of January.
External Assessors and Learners, however, will continue using the Classic ATLAS interface, which remains unchanged.
The ATLAS Help Guides for end users are now available as a separate portfolio, in addition to their inclusion in the existing Guidance and Support portfolio. This makes it easier to share just the help guidance on navigating the new ATLAS interface with Managers, Assessors, and Administrators.
You can access both portfolios depending on your needs:
- New end user help guides: Focused on step-by-step guidance that can be easily shared with Managers, Assessors, and Administrators. These guides cover the practical use of the ATLAS interface for day-to-day tasks. View the new guides: ATLAS Navigation Enhancements - Help Guides
- Existing guidance & support portfolio: Includes the ATLAS release overview and “Get Started” guides for early adopters, system administrators, as well as help resources for training and reference purposes. View the original portfolio: ATLAS Navigational Enhancements Guidance and Support
The Help Hub provides further information on the following roles and functions:

Who is an assessor?
- As assessor is any staff member working with learners to provide formative or summative feedback and assessment.
