About coaching and mentoring
Coaching and mentoring are important aspects of personal and professional development. Working with a mentor or coach can provide you with the opportunity to explore topics to enhance your personal effectiveness and career progression. We can also help you to develop your coaching and mentoring skills.
The terms coaching and mentoring are often used interchangeably. However, whilst there is overlap between these two developmental approaches, there are some key differences. So it can be helpful to think about these terms before deciding which type of development would be most suitable for you.

Suitability: staff members who are planning to mentor others
If you are mentoring others either informally or as part of a coordinated scheme, this short workshop can help you to develop skills and techniques to increase the impact of your mentoring practice. It is a practical session designed to cover aspects of effective mentoring relationships, from establishing purpose through to active listening.
- We coordinate a mentoring scheme which is available to all staff. For information on how to register as a mentor or a mentee and learn how the scheme works, please go to our Mentoring site.
